I have a 401(k) and a traditional IRA, and need to take required minimum distributions (RMD) from both accounts. Can I take the total amount from my 401(k)?

No.  The aggregation of RMDs for a 401(k) and an IRA is not permitted. Therefore, each account must satisfy its RMD independently
